1992 Alfa Romeo SZ 3.0 Coupe.

The example offered here is number 927 of just 1036 built and represents late 20th-century Italian design at its best. Dutch registered and only 76.336km since new!

A very well dealer maintained example which has seen careful use and does not show the usually seen problems many SZ suffer from.

A really nice example of this amazing Alfa! And the sound of that sweet 3 litre Busso 6 cilinder engine!

The Alfa Romeo SZ (Sprint Zagato), also known by its project designation ES30 (Experimental Sportscar 3.0 Litre), is a high-performance, limited-production sports coupé built between 1989 and 1991. Unveiled at the 1989 Geneva Motor Show, its striking wedge-shaped design features muscular proportions, an integrated Alfa Romeo grille crest and a distinctive trio of square headlights on either side.

The SZ was the result of an ambitious collaboration between Alfa Romeo, FIAT and Zagato. The styling was led by FIAT designer Robert Opron, working in conjunction with the design teams at Alfa Romeo and Zagato. Production and final assembly took place at Zagato’s factory in Terrazzano di Rho, near Milan. Chassis and suspension development benefited from the expertise of engineer Giorgio Pianta, formerly involved with FIAT and Lancia’s works rally teams.

Power comes from Alfa Romeo’s celebrated 2.959 cc, 60-degree V6 engine, producing approximately 210 bhp and driving the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transaxle. With a claimed top speed of 245 km/h, the SZ combines impressive performance with remarkable handling. Its lightweight composite bodywork and aerodynamic design, with a drag coefficient of approximately 0.30, contribute to its outstanding sporting character.
