Model history
The name Testa Rossa refers to the colour that the camshaft covers were painted on the Ferrari sports racing models. The Paris Motor Show in 1984 saw the return of the Testarossa. The Pininfarina-designed supercar was striking and innovative with its aerodynamic layout and large side intakes. The engine was the first four valves per cylinder flat 12 fitted in a Ferrari road car, producing a claimed 390bhp @ 6300 rpm (European models). This was the most powerful engine mounted on a production sports car at the time of its launch.
The Ferrari Testarossa made quite an impact: it became one of the most iconic models of the 80’s and even today, it is an exceptional car! The sound of the engine is fantastic and especially with a sports exhaust it is exhilarating! For those who have not experienced the Testarossa we must inform you, the car has a remarkably smooth and supple ride. It is a long distance GT which has amazing power in every gear. Our own racing driver: ’I remember driving back from the Nurburgring and shifting to fifth gear on the motorway and hitting the 280 km/h so fast it was quite amazing’!
