Model history

The Austin Healey is one of the most iconic British sports cars from the sixties. They had plenty of performance, charisma, exquisite styling and a first-class competition pedigree. The 3-litre was a very successful car which won many rallies and is the best known of the ‘Big Healey’ models.

This example

This particular Austin Healey 3000 Mk3 ‘phase 2’ was built in 1966 and sold to the USA. In the early nineties the car was sold to a Dutch Healey specialist who restored the car for a client. We sold the car when it was brand new restored in 1996 to its current Dutch owner.

When the car arrived in the Netherlands, it was professionally restored by a Dutch Healey specialist and still presents very well. It shows a very clean chassis and good bodywork. Chrome is very nice. The car was always maintained by our well known Austin Healey specialist since and comes with a lot of records of service history. The owner spend more than 33.000 Euro on maintenance over the last 14 years. The engine has been overhauled with many Denis Welch performance parts and in 2012 the gearbox was converted for a rebuilt example (correct MkIII type). The interior is in good used condition. A lovely Moto-Lita wood-rim steering wheel is fitted which gives this Healey a more sporty appearance. This car benefits from a tonneau, Halda Tripmaster and a high-torque starter. Chrome wire wheels, competition overdrive, a stainless steel exhaust and a Kenlowe fan are fitted too.

Beautifully finished in ‘Healey Blue’ with a blue interior. Straight from 27 years of ownership, this is a wonderful running and driving example, suitable for enjoyable open top motoring or rallying. Dutch registered and just back from service (January 2023).

Price is Euro 59.500,-.
