Monterey Car Week 2022
Alex visited the ‘Car Week’ after 2 years of absence. And what a great week it was. Cars everywhere, either in Carmel or Monterey driving around to enjoy or show off or at one of the many auctions. Broad Arrow Group had a nice setup at the Jet Centre and started their sale as first. A really nice presentation by RM was in the special rooms for the very special cars (read very expensive). The lesser cars were presented in and outside. We wondered if the auction houses could sell this many cars but we were proven wrong as nearly all sold. Over at Bonhams the cars are mostly parked on the field and our friend’s Ferrari 250 GT Europa sold well. It was a chilly week in Carmel this year although on sunday at Pebble Beach the sun came out. Every day multiple events are available and many auctions if you need to buy something for your collection, or your wife..
On Saturday we had a good time at the Concorso Italiano. Some great cars in the warm sunshine there.
Sunday is the big day. Pebble Beach Concours day. Dawn patrol started very early this year. At 06.00 at least a 1000 people were already active drinking American coffee. For me the best hours are until 10-11.00 Am when it is not too crowded. Some fabulous machinery here.
