1959 Austin Healey 100 / 6
The Austin Healey is one of the most iconic British sports cars from the sixties. They had plenty of performance, charisma, exquisite styling and a first-class competition pedigree.
This is a very nice and powerful Austin Healey 100-6 Four Seater from 1959. She comes with a British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate. She was, built on 5 February 1959 for North American Export (San Francisco). Factory fitted equipment: wire wheels, overdrive, adjustable steering column, laminated windscreen and a heater.
The car remained in the USA. In 2004 this Healey was sold from Yelm, Washington, United States of America, to Jeff & Sharon Clark in Kirkland, Washington, United States of America. At this moment the Healey was finished in two tone red over black. The car was carefully restored in the period 2005-2007 by Motorcar Classic LLC in Woodinville, Washington,USA. Some time after the restoration the car was exported to the Netherlands and soon after she was sold to its current Dutch owner.
The engine was rebuilt in the Netherlands via our Healey specialist in the period 2008-2009. The original 2.6 litre engine was bored out to 3.0 litre (79mm to 83.3mm) and fitted with 2 SU HD8 carburetors (MKIII). The camshafts and cilinder head and brakes has also been improved. The result is a wonderful running and driving example, suitable for enjoyable open top motoring of rallying. Over the last 12 years, more than 35.000 euro was spend on the mechanics. In 2010 the leather interior was renewed in the beautiful colour flaming red. A year later the soft top and tonneau were renewed. The car has been professionally polished in 2018 and looks so lovely. Presented as ordered new in black with a red interior. She is a very fast car.
Dutch registered and APK (like MOT/TUV/CT). Well maintained by our Healey specialist. The car comes with Heritage papers and many invoices from work done. As an extra a lovely hardtop is available at extra cost.
